Just a quick midweek update!
Our Inspire Maker Space Camp is off to a great start! Yesterday there were 111 people - kids, youth leaders, and adult leaders - doing baking, practicing teamwork, and doing collaborative colouring and creative writing. And we learned that we, like Saul 2,000 years ago, are invited to join Jesus’ team of disciples! Please continue to pray for all the participants and families involved in Inspire!
Inspire is also doing a fundraiser which will contribute to the floor of the church and community space of our church partners in Santa Clara, Cuba. We have three jars at our registration table - one for each of three student leaders. Contributions to the fundraiser can get put into any of the three jars as vote for that student leader to get a pie in the face at the end of Thursday evening. And Brent has committed that if we get at least $500 in this fundraiser ALL THREE of the students will get pied AND Brent will get a pie in the face!!! If you’d like to help make this happen, you can swing by the church between 5:45 and 7:45 tonight or tomorrow night and contribute to the voting.
Thanks to everyone who is helping (and has helped) make Inspire a success.
We also want to make you aware of a schedule change for this summer. We have changed the date we are going to John and Mary Paillè’s to August 4. On that Sunday, we will be gathering at their property at 160 Awenda Park Rd. This gathering will not be streamed online. On August 18 we will be at Covenant’s building (95 Robert St. E.) and this gathering will be streamed. The updated schedule is on our website, posted at the church, and available at the church in a small format to take home and put on your fridge!
