NOUN

    1. An official order or commission to do something.

It's the day after an election in our country. And the mandate is clear. For Jesus followers in this country the mandate is:

Love one another. (John 13:34)

Our calling is not to complain about when others don't fulfill their mandate. Our calling is to live out the one given to us. And it is clear.

Regardless of how we feel about election results yesterday – anger, excitement, relief, disappointment, sadness, glee – our mandate hasn't changed. Let's stay focused on what we have been commissioned to do: love.
