Hey there, Covenant Family!
There is no Covenant Weekly coming to you today, but we do want to ensure you are aware of some things. At Covenant, we have the following upcoming events:
- Sunday, April 16 - Stephen Roy from Mennonite Central Committee will be visiting and sharing with us.
- Sunday, April 23 - Brent Jefkins will be speaking AND we will have a Covenant Coffee & Conversation time after the service. Everyone is invited to bring some napkin-friendly snacks to share after our worship time together.
- Saturday, May 6 (6:15-7:30 pm) - Newcomers Dessert Night at Covenant. All newcomers (or those who have just never come to an event like this) are invited to sign up on the clipboard by the main doors. Others are invited to provide desserts for the event!
- Sunday, May 14 - Mother's Day at Covenant!!
In addition to these events at Covenant, we'd like you to be aware of some opportunities in Tiny Township for Seniors to learn about tech. They are coordinated by Lisa Paters who is a relatively new part of our Covenant Family. Here is a summary of the workshops (which started this morning):
- We will be starting up our tech workshops (Coffee and Connect) again on April 11 from 9:30 -11:30 at Wyebridge Community Centre. We will run for 6 weeks (skipping May 2). This session, we will run 2 classes simultaneously … a beginner and an intermediate class.
- Beginner classes will look at how an iPhone works, the functions of the buttons, and features including Siri, sharing location, photos, contact list, texting, FaceTime and accessibility features for seniors.
- Intermediate classes will review information taught in the fall session and work through basic functions of Excel and Word (Numbers and Pages) and any other iPhone features and apps participants would like to learn about.
Seniors who are interested can contact Lisa directly at lpater@tiny.ca or 705-529-1789.
As you go through this week, ‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favour and give you his peace.’
