Changes To Online & Text Giving

We have been so blessed by the ease with which many in our Covenant family have adopted and embraced online and text giving. It has allowed us to maintain an income that is over our expenses during this pandemic period. This healthy financial situation has freed us to pursue the necessary technological upgrades to stream live online from the church building (this will be coming soon!) and seek increased staffing to help us enhance our ministry moving forward (see that announcement at www.covenantchurch.ca/news/update-regarding-direction-and-staffing).

The method we have been using to receive those online and text contributions has been relatively user friendly for those giving, but it has increased the administrative load around our finances - a load that was already heavy and we were already considering how to streamline. During the process of exploring options for streamlining our financial administration we discovered the company tithe.ly. Tithe.ly began in 2013 and has quickly grown to become a leader in assisting churches with receiving, tracking, and receipting financial contributions while also expanding to incorporate other offerings for churches. In fact, several months ago they merged with the company that was already hosting our website.

After much consideration Covenant Church is entering into a partnership with Tithe.ly that will allow us to receive, track, and issue receipts for our financial contributions all in the same place - making it easier for everyone and significant reducing the administrative hours. Our association with Tithe.ly will provide many other benefits as well. Some of these you will see in the weeks to come, including a Covenant Church app and a place for event registration which we will need to use when we resume in person services.

Over the next few weeks we ask you to transition your online contributions to the tithe.ly method using either online giving, giving through the tithe.ly giving app, or through text using the new text-to-give number.
