As a community drawn together by the love of Jesus, we have the amazing privilege (and responsibility) of sharing that love with each other and the world. Over the next couple of weeks we have some special opportunities to share this love.
Sunday, June 18th - Father's Day AND Communion & Fellowship Sunday
Join us at 9 and 11 am for our gatherings in which we'll celebrate Communion together, celebrate our fathers, and reflect on the gift of the Holy Spirit we receive from our gracious Father. Bring a napkin friendly finger food to share during the 10-11 am hour between the services! We also have a basket out and welcome food donations for the St. Vincent de Paul food bank in Penetang.
Sunday, June 25th - World Refugee Day Celebrations & Picnic at the Park
Join us for one service at 10 am at the outdoor amphitheatre in Penetang. (8 Owen St. is the best address to look up to find your way there.) Our service will be filled with elements to bring awareness to the reality of refugees, considering how we can be involved, and praying for the displaced people around the globe. We will have a BBQ after the service. Bring your own plates & cutlery (to help the environment!) and a salad or dessert to share! There are opportunities to help serve with the BBQ. To find out how, please contact Crystal at office@covenantchurch.ca.
One final opportunity to engage our community is through getting involved in Simcoe County's #IT STARTS initiative. During the month of June individuals and groups are invited to express our commitment to building a community that is welcoming, diverse, and opposes racism and discrimination. For more information or to download your pledge card, visit immigration.simcoe.ca/itstarts. If you'd prefer, you can go to your local library to get a pledge card. I got my card from the amazing staff at The Penetanguishene Public Library! You can see my participation here: twitter.com/penetangpastor/status/874293252882665473
Join us during our service at the amphitheatre on June 25th where we will be do a pledge card together as a church!
