Individuals and groups at Covenant are involved in various efforts within our community where they share and show Jesus' love. Each Compassion Project has a point person who oversees the work of that ministry with support and guidance from Covenant's leadership. If the work of one of these Compassion Projects interests you, message us at office@covenantchurch.ca and we'll connect you with the project leader!

  • Music and Friendship Ministry at Water Street Home for Specialized Care
    • A group of people gather on Wednesdays at a specialized care home to lead a sing-along. A mix of classic tunes, spirituals, and old favourites forms the soundtrack for growing friendships.
    • Special events and snacks are opportunities this team uses to deepen their connection with the residents at the home.
  • Meal Programs at All Saints Anglican Church Parish Hall
    • Breakfast Program - One Thursday per month a small group prepares and serves a free breakfast for those in need of a meal and some interpersonal connection.
    • Lunch Program - One Thursday per month a small group prepares and serves a free lunch for those in need of a meal and some interpersonal connection.
  • Lafontaine Road Cleanup - Twice per year a group works together to clean up the roadside between Penetang and Lafontaine.
  • Christian Island Christmas
    • Each year for many years, we have partnered with social services on Christian Island to help provide Christmas gifts for parents to give to their children.
    • The entire congregation (and surrounding community) is invited to join us in purchasing gifts based on the age and gender of the children which we then pass along to the Beausoleil First Nation Social Services Department for distribution to parents.
  • Refugee Sponsorship
    • Five years ago, a team from Covenant helped to facilitate a successful resettlement for a family fleeing danger and violence in Syria.
    • We currently have a refugee sponsorship application pending for family members of the original Syrian family who continue in difficult circumstances. If approved we will reengage with our community in an effort to help more refugees find a welcome and safe place in our community.
